vs Riverside Christian (Dec. 18, 2010)
In Randle for their third game of the week, the Timberwolves hosted the Crusaders and fell by the slimmest of margins 47-46.
Morton/White Pass led 18-10 after one and 24-22 at the break as sophomore Kayla Reynolds scored all 15 of her points in the first 16 minutes. She went 6 for 10 from the field in the first half with a trio of three-pointers, and at one point scored 13 straight points.
“Kayla’s first half was phenomenal,” coach Lauren Kanyer said. “I was really proud of her. That’s the best I’ve ever seen her play.”
The Timberwolves led 24-16 with 1:40 left in the first half, but through the end of the half and the first 4:24 of the third quarter Riverside Christian scored 16 consecutive points to lead 32-24 with 4:01 in the third.
Over the final 11:36, freshman Ashley Kelly carried the Timberwolves all the way back into the game. She scored a career-best 17 points in that span, connecting on 5 of 6 three-pointers (after missing her first she hit five straight) including one from the top of the key with 36 seconds remaining giving Morton/White Pass their first and only lead (46-45) of the second half.
“Ashley had a great second half,” Kanyer said. “She was 6 for 10 on the night. She finally shot the ball so that was good to see.”
With five seconds to go, the Crusaders’ Kristin Kinder rebounded her own miss and scored for the final one-point margin.
Whitney Elledge (six rebounds) and Darian Atkinson each scored five points, and Nicole Anderson and Stefana Bertucci both added two.
“We made 10 three-pointers for the game, but we only shot one free throw. We need to get the ball inside a little more to draw more fouls. We also need to block out better so we can get more rebounds. I thought Stef did a good job of guarding (Kendra) Staymates.”

Hey Timberwolves :)
So, we had three games this last week. We played Adna fist. That was our first league game. And it wasn't very good. We definitely didn't play our best. Next we played Pe Ell. I thought we played a great game. Darian scored 16 points! She was our leading scorer. We lost the Pe Ell game, but we played pretty good. On Saturday we played Riverside Christian. We lost by one. Ashley was our leader scorer, with 17 points! We played really good, but they had big girls! We just needed to box out a little more and we would have won that game. We are a small team so every team is gonna be bigger then us... so boxing out is gonna be important :)

The Timberwolves moved to 2-0 on the young season with a 55-9 win over the Vancouver Christian Light.
Morton/White Pass led 41-0 at the half and they scored the first 47 points of the game. They outscored the Light 14-9 in final two quarters.
“We started with a high intensity and I was glad to see that,” coach Lauren Kanyer said. “The girls did a great job of executing the offense.”
Freshman Ashley Kelly led the Timberwolves with nine points. Kayla Reynolds added eight, Nicole Anderson, Chelbi Eveland and Jade Lundy six apiece, Whitney Elledge five, Darian Atkinson and Jeanie Mullins four each, Maddy McCoy three and Victoria Ford and Stefana Bertucci two. They shot 36 percent for the game (25 of 70) and made 5 of 7 from the line (71 percent).
Bertucci grabbed a game-high seven rebounds with Lundy and Eveland getting six apiece. Eveland, along with Atkinson, also finished with four steals.
“Jade did a great job off the bench and kept the intensity up when she came in the game,” Kanyer said. “I love to see girls shoot and finish left-handed layups.”

Hey Timberwolves!
So we had our first game against Oakville. We won 52-25. It was pretty exciting! It was a good start to our season.
I thought we played defense very well. We ran a press that I thought worked very well. We had 34 steals. We even outrebounded them! That's crazy for me to hear because my teams are normally super-short.
I wasn't really nervous as I thought I would be, but I think that's because it was in Oakville and only our parents came!
We play again on Thursday in Morton!
Thanks for reading!

Hey T-Wolves :)
So our first two weeks of practice are over and we are having our first game now.
This is the first year for Morton/White Pass girls' basketball. We all get along good. And I'm excited for the season.
Our coach FINALLY told us our teams, junior varsity and varsity. I was so nervous!
We are a young team, but I think we could do well. And our uniforms are pretty sick! :)
