In Napavine the Tigers led 15-6 after a quarter, and limited the Timberwolves to just two second quarter points for a 23-8 halftime lead. They went on to win 62-26.
“We need to handle the ball better (26 turnovers), but that will come with experience,” coach Lauren Kanyer said. “Darian (Atkinson) got us off to a good start. She was aggressive and looking to score. Ashley (Kelly) did a good job rebounding early on and Chelbi (Eveland) posted up strong.”
Atkinson scored eight points, making a pair of three-pointers, with Eveland getting six. Kelly added five points, Kayla Reynolds four, and Jeanie Mullins three. They shot 24 percent for the game (10 of 41). Napavine finished at 40 percent (24 of 60). Stefana Bertucci grabbed a team-best seven rebounds.
