In Toutle the Ducks scored 40 first half points on their way to a 62-38 win. Toutle Lake shot 50 percent from the field in the first half (17 of 34) and led 40-14 at the half.
Freshman Jade Lundy scored a career-high nine points, all in the fourth quarter, as the Timberwolves scored 19 fourth quarter points. Eveland added eight points, Kelly six, and Kayla Reynolds and Jeanie Mullins three apiece. Elledge, Atkinson, Bertucci, and Madison McCoy all scored two points and Anderson one. Toutle Lake outrebounded Morton/White Pass 41-33 and outshot them 42 percent (25 of 60) to 31 percent (14 of 45).
“I was proud of Jade,” coach Lauren Kanyer said. “She did well, and the team played better in the fourth quarter. Toutle just plays great pressure defense and we had trouble running our offense in the first three quarters. But it’s good to play against a team like that because we’re going to get better.”
Kelly grabbed six rebounds with Eveland and Anderson getting five apiece.
“Stefana played great defense on Payton Hoff (16 ppg),” Kanyer said. “She held her to just two points.”
